Trekking in the Himalayas had been a long-time dream for both my wife and I, and thanks to Asian Mountain Adventures, it became a reality that far exceeded our expectations. One of my biggest concerns before the trek was managing my coeliac disease. Food safety in remote areas can be tricky, and I was anxious about how this would be handled in the teahouses along the trail. I was absolutely blown away by how seriously Hari, our guide, took this. He communicated directly with each kitchen we stayed at to ensure that every single meal I ate was completely gluten-free – no guesswork, no risks. I felt incredibly well looked after, and I was able to enjoy local dishes without any fear of getting sick. That kind of attention to detail made a huge difference in the overall experience.
On the day going to Gokyo Ri(5360m) to view Sagarmatha (Mt Everest) , my wife started experiencing a mild case of altitude sickness. It could have easily derailed the rest of the trip, but our guide handled it with calm confidence and deep experience. He adjusted our pace, made sure we took plenty of breaks, and kept a very close eye on her condition. Thanks to his care and patience, we were able to continue the trek safely, and she made a full recovery without ever feeling rushed or pressured. We truly appreciated how the wellbeing of each trekker was treated as the top priority.
And of course, the trek itself was nothing short of spectacular. The views from Gokyo Ri – looking out over Sagarmatha/Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu – were simply unforgettable. The quiet beauty of the Gokyo Lakes, the peacefulness of the trails, and the kindness of the people we met along the way made this journey feel deeply meaningful.

Badarpur, Pokhara, Lumbini and Chitwan National Park, with a guide and driver which was a very informative and cultural experience, we did not have to do anything other than enjoy our time travelling and seeing the sights. Chitwan jungle safari in particular was fantastic as it gave us an opportunity to see tigers, bears and rhinos and elephants.
